根據古龍的《流星蝴蝶劍》和金庸的《笑傲江湖》改編的電視劇。沈沖（李南星 飾）作為江湖中的頭號殺手厭倦了殺手生涯，投靠了江湖地位頗高的南宮世家，但是殺手組織的大姐秋老大（劉秋蓮 飾）心中還掛念著他。南宮世家為爭奪武林秘籍蓮花寶典與飛鷹堡結仇，南宮家的小姐小蝶受到父親南宮俊（朱厚任 飾）和哥哥南宮劍（陳天文 飾）的嚴厲管制，與此同時養子白玉川（塔琳托婭 飾）也苦苦糾纏她，為此小蝶幾次自殺，幸好都被沈沖所救，兩人日久生情。不死心的白玉川幾次從中挑撥，還暗中勾結飛鷹堡想獨得秘籍，事情敗露后，沈沖在朋友葉群（謝韶光 飾）的幫助下將白玉川打下了山崖，可是蓮花寶典也隨著白玉川的死亡消失了。不久后，江湖中出現了一個神秘的大理郡主段素素，一場腥風血雨又將到來。
